HITTING RESET… TAKING NEVER OUT OF STYLE BACK TO LIFE!

Hey BABES!

It’s been so long since I’ve wrote a blog post in here. I’ve been all over the place and not going to lie, I’ve been trying to figure things out… well… basically LIFE. So much has happen that is making me shift my mindset and re-think certain things. For example: what’s my purpose with this blog?

To give a little bit of a back story, I recently embarked on a new position at work that requires 115% of my time. At the time, I was very exited, but at the same time terrified, to try something new. Sales is not an easy job, and can be frustrating at time (most of the time). But it give you so many tools to be successful in so many other areas. And to top it all off… we are buying our first home! So between the job and this process of building this girl here has had no time!

I’ve been wanting to hit reset on this blog for quite some time now. And this goes back to asking myself what is my purpose with Never out of Style?!…. For me this question started when I got accepted to LikeToKnow.it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s exiting to be part of that platform like many of the bloggers I follow. But, I have to be honest with myself… I’m not here to be a sales person. That’s one thing that I saw myself trying to be . I was more focused on having a great feed, trying to be accepted to this type of program, that I completely lost focus on what I really like and want to share.

So that’s when the HITTING RESET comes to play. I want to share with you guys what I really like and how I do things when it comes to fashion, beauty and everything else. I gave myself the task of sitting down and just writing down what I love the most about these things. And every time I though about it, I was constantly reminded of how I would emulate my sisters looks with a lot less. For me that was my favorite challenge growing up!  My tricks and techniques to pull off a killer outfit with $20 – $30 at most.  And to be quite honest, most of the time I inherited all the clothing pieces my sister would purge. For me that was like going shopping.

So from now on I will go with my gut and share my current favorites like… What I do while thrifting, or what are my favorite beauty products, or how I just came up with a killer outfit with x amount of money. Being able to be raw and actually show ME will be the center of this blog. Lots of homemade videos, and unplanned IG feed.

So with that said… let this journey begin! Again!

All I want to do is share what I really love! And hope you love it too 🙂

Scoring great pieces at awesome prices

Hola Hola!!!!

So, a while back I mentioned that I was working on a blog post all about my tips and tricks on how to score great pieces at awesome prices. Y lo prometido es deuda…asi que aqui esta.  If you have not seen the Instagram post, click here. Now, I showed you a very cute high-low lavender dress I scored for $1.80. Yes, you read that right! One dollar and eighty cents 🙂 It’s no secret that I love shopping… but, I’m also on a extremely low budget. Specially now that we are house hunting.  I can’t be spending $50 on a dress or a pair of shoes just like that. So I’m always on a hunt for great deals.

I wanted to share with you some tricks I have to score great pieces at awesome prices. That being wither clothing pieces, accessories or even shoes. Now, these are not only SALES that are going with retailers or stores,  but different ways you can have save up.

THRIFTING

My favorite one and to be honest, the one I do the most. If you ask me every other about my outfit, I will 100% have something I thrifted. And please, don under estimate the power of thrifting, you can find high end brand names from Christian Dior, Prada and many more, to Banana Republic, Loft and many other. While thrifting on normal days is cheap as hell, they also provide different discounts on specific days. Some days the even do 50% on everything at the store. So imagine buying something for, let’s say, a dollar!

SALE SECTION

When you are at your favorite store, always start at the SALE section. You will be surprised! That’s exactly how I found the lavender dress for $1.80. It was part of the sale section. It was 50% off the original price and it had a 70% off on top of it because it was damaged. Lucky me that the damage was the odd sleeves it comes with. Other than that, the dress was intact! So always make sure you are starting at the sale section of the store.

EMAIL PROMOTIONS

I know these are so annoying sometimes. But, there are times that 1. you get to know about a sale first than anybody else. And 2. there are special promotions for email subscribers only. There are times that these promotions are on top of any sale the website has. So if you have to create a new email just for brand promotions then so be it!

FILL UP YOUR CANT AND THEN…. GO

I do this all the time. It helps me get some retail therapy without buying anything. But it also helps me to get an additional discount. If you leave something on a website cart, most likely you will receive an email saying… Hey, you forgot something?! And they provide you with a 10,15 or even 20% off of what’s on your cart.

ONLINE COUPONS/ CASH BACK

Ok, this right here is basically what you should NEVER skip and always do! Weather you are buying online or even in store. While browsing coupons online I’ve found better deals with these type or coupons than what the retailer is providing on the website or even the email promotions. And also, Ebates ( now known as Rakuten) will be your best friend while shopping. There are so many stores that are part of their program weather you are buying online or in store. Get cash back and when you least expect it you have a $20 check to you PayPal so you can use anywhere. I mean… get paid while spending money!

There are so many ways you can save up while shopping. Early this year I decided to buy smarter, and that’s what I’ve been doing. Less patterns, more neutrals. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been sucked into different trends, but I either buy very cheap, or buy something that incorporates the trend but I can use as the seasons go on. Scoring great pieces at awesome prices has become my way of buying anything in my closet, and honestly I’ve saved up a lot.

Really hope this help you guys in any way.

Memorial Day Weekend Outfit

I’ve been so into work and moving that I completely forgot that Memorial Day is next week and we have a long weekend ahead! Is not every week that you get to leave work early on Friday and not work on Monday. So exited!!!

This outfit screams Spring is here! It’s so fresh, loose and comfortable. Remember I mentioned I’ve been trying to be more mindful of the things I buy, well this is the perfect example of good pieces that you can use season over season. Starting with this H&M top. I am so in love with this color combination. Aside from the fact that neutral on neutral is becoming a thing. Mostly combos with white, beige, ivory. I’ve been leaning more towards natural colors pieces. Pieces that I can style 2-3 different ways minimum. When it comes to this type of shirts, I like to get them a couple of sized bigger to have the baggie look. Besides, that way you feel more comfortable.

Another piece that I just bough is this Gap skirt. If you are like me, most of the times I go into a store I start from the sale section. And happens to be that that specific day they were having a great sale on sale items. Lucky me, I tried on 3 pieces and all 3 pieces fit and went home with me 🙂 This skirt ended up being only $15.

For accessories, I paired this with my favorite sneakers, at least for this type of season. These white and canvas Marc Fisher sneakers are the most comfortable sneaker out there! I found mine at Marshall’s last year. And added my clear bag. Some hoop earrings, because they make your outfit go from 0 to 100 in just seconds and voila! You have a great outfit for any day activity, a cookout, going around town with family, almost anything you want to do! And thankfully its not raining this weekend in Dallas (hopefully, Texas weather play lots of jokes). Ultimately hope you have an awesome weekend filled with fun stuff to do from day to night!

Linen for Spring

Hey guys!!! So sorry for being MIA, we just moved and it was all so super hectic. But I’m back again and on full force. I’ve been trying to have more consistency here on the blog but mostly to have a plan. A schedule that I can just go after. Basically create a structure for this part of my life. I really enjoy working on the blog and of course I want to grow it. I love what I do here!

Now, let’s talk about this top! I’ve been a bit more specific with what I buy. Don’t want to buy anything and everything, want to be a bit more strategic with my purchases. More neutrals, less crazy prints. So when I saw this one shoulder linen top I just had to have it! It’s a great fabric for spring and summer and being one shoulder makes it so much better.

The knot at the top makes it very convenient. If you need to adjust it, you will be able to. I styled this with some high waisted ripped jeans, some clear wedges, my Goodwill straw bag, and some fun earrings. And because it’s a one shoulder, I did a pony tail. that way I could show more skin.

This is such a fun outfit! And the versatility of the top makes it so easy to style with so many other things. This linen top will go a long way with me for sure!
