It’s been so long since I’ve wrote a blog post in here. I’ve been all over the place and not going to lie, I’ve been trying to figure things out… well… basically LIFE. So much has happen that is making me shift my mindset and re-think certain things. For example: what’s my purpose with this blog?
To give a little bit of a back story, I recently embarked on a new position at work that requires 115% of my time. At the time, I was very exited, but at the same time terrified, to try something new. Sales is not an easy job, and can be frustrating at time (most of the time). But it give you so many tools to be successful in so many other areas. And to top it all off… we are buying our first home! So between the job and this process of building this girl here has had no time!
I’ve been wanting to hit reset on this blog for quite some time now. And this goes back to asking myself what is my purpose with Never out of Style?!…. For me this question started when I got accepted to LikeToKnow.it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s exiting to be part of that platform like many of the bloggers I follow. But, I have to be honest with myself… I’m not here to be a sales person. That’s one thing that I saw myself trying to be . I was more focused on having a great feed, trying to be accepted to this type of program, that I completely lost focus on what I really like and want to share.
So that’s when the HITTING RESET comes to play. I want to share with you guys what I really like and how I do things when it comes to fashion, beauty and everything else. I gave myself the task of sitting down and just writing down what I love the most about these things. And every time I though about it, I was constantly reminded of how I would emulate my sisters looks with a lot less. For me that was my favorite challenge growing up! My tricks and techniques to pull off a killer outfit with $20 – $30 at most. And to be quite honest, most of the time I inherited all the clothing pieces my sister would purge. For me that was like going shopping.
So from now on I will go with my gut and share my current favorites like… What I do while thrifting, or what are my favorite beauty products, or how I just came up with a killer outfit with x amount of money. Being able to be raw and actually show ME will be the center of this blog. Lots of homemade videos, and unplanned IG feed.
Hey guys!!! So sorry for being MIA, we just moved and it was all so super hectic. But I’m back again and on full force. I’ve been trying to have more consistency here on the blog but mostly to have a plan. A schedule that I can just go after. Basically create a structure for this part of my life. I really enjoy working on the blog and of course I want to grow it. I love what I do here!
Now, let’s talk about this top! I’ve been a bit more specific with what I buy. Don’t want to buy anything and everything, want to be a bit more strategic with my purchases. More neutrals, less crazy prints. So when I saw this one shoulder linen top I just had to have it! It’s a great fabric for spring and summer and being one shoulder makes it so much better.
The knot at the top makes it very convenient. If you need to adjust it, you will be able to. I styled this with some high waisted ripped jeans, some clear wedges, my Goodwill straw bag, and some fun earrings. And because it’s a one shoulder, I did a pony tail. that way I could show more skin.
This is such a fun outfit! And the versatility of the top makes it so easy to style with so many other things. This linen top will go a long way with me for sure!
Who run the world?…. Girls! There are so many good things to choose from this Holiday season. From make up to jewelry and clothing. So is safe to say that there’s something for everyone. So, I wanted to talk with you guys about my most resent obsession… scarfs! Yes, scarfs on summer. This is a piece that we all have somewhere in out house. I’m pretty sure you could just hop on in your moms closet and find at least one. And to be honest, I was really skeptical to use them at first, at least the way I wanted to use it. I wasn’t sure if it would look good on me. I wore it once and my love for it only grew bigger and bigger. With that being said, I wanted to share with you 5 ways to wear a scarf this summer.
AS A HEADBAND
This is probably the most common way to use a scarf. It’s easy, comfortable and you will always look really cute. You can either wear it with the knot on top of your head or under it. I personally love the style of the scarf with the knot on top of your head but I have not found the right scarf for it. If you have any tips let me know on the comments. What I love the most about this scarf is the pop of red it has. Gives it a little bit more personality.
ON YOUR PURSE
This one is actually one of my favorites. I add this to almost all of my purses. There’s just something about this that screams I’m a chic B. It completely re-vamps your outfit and gives you what you need to be extra. This is the perfect accessory to add to all your summer bags, you can see my favorites here.
ON YOUR PONYTAIL
Summer is here and that means HOT weather, and that also means having our hair up in a ponytail most of the times. Why not spice that up every once in a while? Yes please!!! Wrapping your scarf around your hair tie will make your outfit so cute instantly.
ON YOUR NECK
For me this was going way out of my comfort zone… and good thing I did! I love love love this style and this look. When I saw this I really wanted to try it with a pajama shit style. I took my inspiration from here. Give this a try! You will feel like a million bucks 🙂
ON YOUR WRIST
Another of these 5 ways to wear a scarf this summer is on your wrist as a bracelet. Such a simple detail can make your outfit so much fun. What I like to do is do a knot and then hide what’s left of the scarf. I think this is such a great way to wear it for picnics, pool days or to the beach.
There are just so many ways to include this accessory into your wardrobe. That’s the reason why I love versatile pieces so much. If you really put thought into it you can create endless looks with this. What’s your favorite way to wear scarfs? Also, where do you buy your scarfs? Mine are usually from Forever21. Here’s a couple of my favorites!
