10 Basic Pieces you Need In Your Closet

Going shopping for what’s on trend is a lot of fun, and I know we all love it. We all want to be on trend and be on top of the fashion game. But there are some basic staple pieces we all need to rock out outfits even more. So, today I’ll be sharing with you guys my 10 basic pieces you need in your closet. What’s great about these basics is that you can wear them all year long, these are not specific to one season only.

Having all these basic pieces in your closet will help create a better canvas for all those trendy pieces. We would be looking like clowns if we were to incorporate all the trends of the season on one outfit, right?! This is another reason to keep your basics on the natural palette. White, black, beige, grey… You can have all sorts of color combination if you start with a natural palette. What are the 10 basic pieces you need in your closet??? Keep on reading.

White Tshirt

This is such a staple! First of all, white goes with everything. A white t-shit is a very versatile basic that you can easily dress up or down. You can pair this up with some denims and sneaker for a more casual look. Or, pair it up with some black trousers, a blazer and some pumps and you are good to go to work or even a night out.

White Button Down Shirt

This piece will help you give some structure to your outfit. There are so many different styles of these type of top that you can pick and choose the ones that fit more your style. You can choose between the fabric, they type of neckline or even the type of sleeve you want. The most basic one is a simple cotton button down but if you’re like me, you have to go a little extra to make that piece pop while at the same time keeping it pretty basic and simple.

Camisole

Hands down the best layering piece! Minimum I have this in black, white and navy blue. This go very well under jackets, blazers and even alone. In the summer I love wearing these alone because you always feel fresh and comfortable. Once the transition to fall starts to arrive these would pair well with cardigans, leather jackets, denim jackets.

Blazer

Oh this is one of my favorites! Blazers give so much structure and personality to your outfit and they instantly make you feel like a girl boss. This is another basic that you can pair more with your style. I suggest sticking to basic colors like black or white. Going to heavy on style with a bold color will limit your options on how many times you can wear it or the different ways you can rock this basic.

Little Black Dress

The LBD we can never forget about. I think this is one of the easiest outfits you can put together and instantly look like a million bucks. This is another piece that you can adapt to your style. There are so many styles of LBD you can choose from. You can choose the fabric you like, the length, the type of sleeve and so many other things. But always always keep it classy and versatile.

Trousers

This is one of the basic pieces you need in your closet ASAP. This piece is so versatile. You can use it for going to work, running errands and even for a GNO. Always choose black as your basic color, this will help you have a lot more outfit combinations and you will be able to maximize this piece.

Denim

Who doesn’t own denim?! But for your basic piece don’t just choose any type of denim. Be very specific of the type of fit and color these will have. Think, if you can only have one pair of jean, how would they be? Lean towards a high waited, straight leg mid wash blue jean. They pretty much go with any type of outfit.

Black Jeans

This is another perfect piece you all need. Styling a pair of black jeans is the most easy task and you can literally be out the door withing minutes. For me, this is the piece I gravitates towards when I honestly don’t have time to put an outfit together. Black goes with anything and since this piece is jean material is very easy to dress up or dress down.

Pointy Toes Pumps

This are my favorite type of heels. There’s something about them that makes me feel like a million bucks. These type of heel make your legs look longer and makes you look feel a lot more sophisticated. I have these in white, black, nude and I kinda want them in red also. This is the perfect style of heel that look amazing in every color and with any type of outfit.

Tennis Shoes

I feel this is the it trend right now. Everyone is rocking the “dad sneaker” trend. And don’t get me wrong, I love it, I just don’t see myself buying those type of sneaker. I’m more of a classic Adidas tennis shoe. The one that looks sporty enough to rock a more laid back outfits but not so sporty that looks like I’m going o the gym. if that make any sense… Would you agree?

You can instantly make all these basic pieces look a lot more by adding some accessories. Include statement earrings; see my favorites here, add a belt, you can also add a scarf to it, here are different ways to use one. There are endless possibilities to spice up your basic pieces to make them look amazing.

10 Basic Pieces You Need In Your Closet

If you have all these basic pieces you need in your closet you can conquest any outfit. Don’t think that because these are basic timeless pieces you can’t find them in affordable retailers. So, if you’re like me, always start with what you know best. Always take care of them and they will literally last you so many wears. Hope these 10 basic pieces you need in your closet helped you in any way. Please go ahead and let me know what are your favorite basics and why! Would love to know your answers.

Shein Clothing Haul and Review

I’ve always been the type of person that if I can find what I love more affordable I’ll go for it. And when it comes to shopping for me, affordable is the way to go. I’m constantly looking to expand and be more creative with my wardrobe, while keeping it classy and versitile. I love being on trend, but at the same time find different pieces that I can use throughout time. If I’ve heard  a million times about Shein is an understatement, so I decided to give it a change. Placed an order and wanted to share with you my Shein clothing haul and review of the pieces I got.

White Puff Shoulder Mesh Top

I love versatile pieces like this one. One thing I really love is being able to incorporate trends like this one with my style. I’ve followed the transparent trend for a while and not everything I’ve seen fits my style. The fact that I was able to find a piece that I can dress up and down makes it worth your money. The fabric is very breathable and comfortable. You can easily dress this up for work with a pencil skirt or some black trousers or dress is down with a pair of jeans or a jean skirt, like I styled it here.

Ruffle Hem Buttoned Up Skirt

This is the perfect summer skirt! The ruffles, the buttons, the fit of this piece is beautiful. It’s 100% cotton so this skirt is super comfortable and breathable. I ordered this one size M and if fit amazing! I’m a usually a size 26/27 in bottoms. I love pairing it with some sandals and/or some wedges. This skirt will make your legs look a mile long!

Ruffle Hem Dress

This is such a flattering dress. In addition to the ruffles, which I love, the fact that it has a red gingham print made me love it so much more. It hugs your body very nicely and makes your booty pop with the ruffles at the bottom. One thing I have to say, is that is a little too short for my liking. As much as I love this dress I don’t think I’ll be wearing it that often. Don’t want to show too much you know.

Clear Wooden Handle Bag

This has been one of my favorite purchases of this summer. I’ve worn this bag so many times for so many different occasions, like this one. For me, this is the perfect piece to buy when you want to experiment with a trend. The transparent trend has been around for a little while and to be honest, I don’t see myself spending too much of my time and money on it. So finding pieces like this one and the White Puff Shoulder Mesh Top I mentioned above makes it so much easier for me to be in trend without breaking the bank.

Striped Skort Set

This is the most famous two piece set I’ve seen in IG. And of course, I had to give it a try! Although I really wanted this set, this is what I hesitated the most with. The sizing in these type of retailers varies a lot, so I read almost all the reviews available before making my decision. I love this set and the sexy element it has to it. And the fact that you can wear both pieces in different ways makes this so worth your money.

Deep V Plunge Knot Swimsuit

This one piece is a dream! I love the way it fits and how sexy it looks. I’ve been wanting a one piece for a long time, but I wanted to find one with a sexy feel to it. Since I’m not showing as much skin as having a two piece, I wanted to finding one with a plunge neckline. I think you should always showcase what you love about your body, it will empower you. The fact that I found what I wanted in red made the buy a whole lot easier, this one piece is amazing, see it here.

I have to say that this shopping spree was very much successful! Everything fitted as expected and for the price is unbeatable. My biggest suggestions with this retailer is before purchasing something, read the reviews. Always read the reviews! This will prevent you of having to return something or having a bad experience. I took my time with each item I bought and I do not regret it.

There are so many ways to save up when you are buying online. For trends that come and go, retailers like this are the way to go. You can find almost everything and you won’t have to break the bank for it. Also, and you have seen me mention this, use EBATES. This will help you save up some cash on every purchase. Check them out here. And this is not sponsored in any way, although I wish! I just genuinely love this and use it all the time.

Tell me on the comments down below if you have purchased anything from this retailer and what was your experience! Would love to hear what you guys have ordered.

Everyday Makeup Routine – All Drugstore

I would be lying if I say that I don’t love makeup. To be honest, that’s one of my favorite things to do. I work a 9-5 job, and as much as I would like to do a full face of makeup, I feel is not always appropriate. So I try to keep my everyday makeup as simple as possible. Today I wanted to share with you guys my everyday makeup routine- all drugstore products. You all know I’m a girl on a budget, so needless to say, most of my makeup products are very affordable.

PRIMER

I never do my makeup without a primer. That really sets a great canvas for you to work your magic. Because I have oily skin I always have to use a matte primer for whenever I want my makeup to last all day long. My favorite one is this L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Lock Primer. This if one of the few primers that will actually last al most all day. I have really really oily skin, so personally I don’t think there’s a primer that will keep me matte all day long without me having to blot or refresh my face with powder. But this one here is one of the best ones I’ve tried.

BB Cream

For the longest time I used foundation all day everyday, see my favorites here. And to be honest, I don’t think I have to wear foundation everyday. So I started to use this Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-In-1 Skin Perfector and let me tell you is one of my favorite finds! This does exactly what I need for an everyday use. It has a little tint to it so it balances my skin tones and reduces my redness completely. It makes such a difference and to great part to it is that you still look very natural. This does wears off throughout the day, but for my everyday when I know I’m going straight home from work, I don’t mind.

CONCEALER

If there’s something I really hate is to have my under eyes looking really dry. I don’t have that big of a problem on my under eyes, so I really don’t use heavy concealers that much. My absolute favorite is the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Concealer. This has such a great finish to it! It gives me the coverage I need and it last all day long. What I don’t like about this concealer is the fact that if you apply it very close to your eyes, it can burn a little. So be mindful of that if you use it. But other than that, this concealer in my favorite!

LOOSE POWDER

For me, this is the best way to set your concealer. Either just applying it on your under eye or to bake. For my everyday makeup routine, I only set my concealer. I like to keep the rest of the face dewy and glowy as possible. Makes my makeup look more natural. Normally I use the Coty Airspun Airspun Loose Face Powder, Translucent. This powder makes your face look flawless. I use the unscented one because that has a very particular smell to it. So if you come across that one, please buy it! 🙂

BROWS

I’ve come a long way with this one. For so long I never touched my brows, I don’t really have that much hair so I never wanted to plug them or do anything with them. Basically I was scared of having a really bad experience going somewhere to do my brows. Practice make the world of a difference, and YouTube of course! Currently I’m using the L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer. This brand is killing it! I’ve tried using different types of tips for my brows and what works best for my type of brows is the definer pencil. This type helps me create the shape that I want and still make it look natural.

BRONZER

This if my favorite part of this everyday makeup routine. I have fair skin so making my face look a little bronzed up is always a good thing. When I bronze like to mix two different Wet n Wild products that work amazing together. I use the Wet n Wild MegaGlo Contouring Palette (I love both sides BTW) and the Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer. The Countouring palatte is very matte, which helps with of course the contouring, and the Color Icon Bronzer has a certain shine that will make your face glow. They both are super affordable and work amazingly.

BLUSH

OMG these Wet N Wild Wet n Wild Color Icon Blushes are super pigmented! A little goes such a long way with these. I just dab my brush a little in the pan and tap the excess out. Slightly apply it in circular motion on my cheeks. I believe blush is one of those products that you can never miss, it gives your face the color it needs to be complete.

MASCARA

To have super black full lashes without the falsies I mix the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer and the L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara.  This is the greatest combo! After I curl my lashes I apply these and OMG what a difference it makes. My lashes look very full and voluminous (duh). This mascara is an oldie but a goodie.

LIPS

I love nude lips, it makes the entire look feel a little bit more natural. This time I’m wearing the L’Oreal Paris X Balmain Paris Lipstick.  I’m not a liquid lipstick kind of girl, so you’ll always see me either with lipstick or with a gloss. The creamier the better because I have dry lips. This one here has an amazing color and the creaminess is great. The are on the pricier side tho… but it is worth it!

SETTING SRAY

The final and most important step of all if you want to make your makeup last all day long! And since I have oily skin I need all the matte I can get 🙂 This Wet n Wild Photo Focus Matte Finish Setting Spray is such a great product for an amazing affordable price. It get’s the job done. This is one of the products I wake with me in my bag, check out my favorites here, to refresh my face every so often.

I’ve been trying to keep my everyday makeup routine as simple and relaxed as possible, and let me tell you I love it. Let me know on the comments down below what do you do differently on your routine and what other drugstore products I should try. There are so many options out there 🙂

5 Ways to Wear a Scarf this Summer

So, I wanted to talk with you guys about my most resent obsession… scarfs! Yes, scarfs on summer. This is a piece that we all have somewhere in out house. I’m pretty sure you could just hop on in your moms closet and find at least one. And to be honest, I was really skeptical to use them at first, at least the way I wanted to use it. I wasn’t sure if it would look good on me. I wore it once and my love for it only grew bigger and bigger. With that being said, I wanted to share with you 5 ways to wear a scarf this summer.

AS A HEADBAND

This is probably the most common way to use a scarf. It’s easy, comfortable and you will always look really cute. You can either wear it with the knot on top of your head or under it. I personally love the style of the scarf with the knot on top of your head but I have not found the right scarf for it. If you have any tips let me know on the comments. What I love the most about this scarf is the pop of red it has. Gives it a little bit more personality.

ON YOUR PURSE

This one is actually one of my favorites. I add this to almost all of my purses. There’s just something about this that screams I’m a chic B. It completely re-vamps your outfit and gives you what you need to be extra. This is the perfect accessory to add to all your summer bags, you can see my favorites here.

ON YOUR PONYTAIL

Summer is here and that means HOT weather, and that also means having our hair up in a ponytail most of the times. Why not spice that up every once in a while? Yes please!!! Wrapping your scarf around your hair tie will make your outfit so cute instantly.

ON YOUR NECK

For me this was going way out of my comfort zone… and good thing I did! I love love love this style and this look. When I saw this I really wanted to try it with a pajama shit style. I took my inspiration from here. Give this a try! You will feel like a million bucks 🙂

ON YOUR WRIST

Another of these 5 ways to wear a scarf this summer is on your wrist as a bracelet. Such a simple detail can make your outfit so much fun. What I like to do is do a knot and then hide what’s left of the scarf. I think this is such a great way to wear it for picnics, pool days or to the beach.

There are just so many ways to include this accessory into your wardrobe. That’s the reason why I love versatile pieces so much. If you really put thought into it you can create endless looks with this. What’s your favorite way to wear scarfs? Also, where do you buy your scarfs? Mine are usually from Forever21. Here’s a couple of my favorites!
